Orthopedic PT
What should I expect for my initial exam?
After your physical therapist talks to you about your condition, they will then perform an examination.
Your PT will focus on measuring impairments that may be causing your problem or that may be affected by your injury.

Common measurements taken during a physical therapy examination include:
-
Palpation
-
Range of motion (ROM) measurements
-
Tests of strength
-
Functional mobility
-
Balance
-
Neurological screening tests
-

During the examination, your physical therapist will give you a sense of what may be helping or hurting your situation. Once the exam is complete, we will discuss a treatment plan so that you can achieve your goals.
Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes, no heels or dresses please.

You may start with some gentle exercise after the exam and most days we have time to begin treatment if you arrive on time and your paperwork is completed.
